He took part at “Death in Venice” in the Monnaie (Deborah Warner). A production that enabled him to make his debut at the Scala of Milano (season 2010/2011).

More recently he took place in the LULU production (directed by Kr. Warlikowski, at La Monnaie, Oct. 2012). Next season he will amongst others participate in “Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher” with the Radio Fiharmonic Orchestra of the Netherlands and sing “Hansje” in a new production foro the youth at Flanders opera.

In the field of contemporary music he participated in concerts in Belgium and abroad with compositions by Claude Coppens, Dieter Schnebel, John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen and premiered works by Alvaro Guimaraes, Johan De Smet, Lucien Posman, Victor Legley and Eddie Flecijn. He recorded recently a cd of Johan De Smets 'Confidenties' (texts by Frank Adam). October 2011 he has sung the principal part in the world creation of “Der Turm” (after the play by Peter Weiss), composed by Claude Lenners (at Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, stage direction Waut Koeken).

The past seasons Benoît De Leersnyder has been asked to sing The Ghost / Aladdin and Narumov / Pique Dame for the Vlaamse Opera and to participate in 'Un petit voyage d'hiver', a Schubert project for children for 100% Schubert in Flagey. With Ann De Prest, Hannelore Muylaert and Hein Boterberg he toured with a tribute concert to Léo Ferré staged by Ronny Lauwers. Furthermore he appeared in Le bal masqué by Francis Poulenc and le Gendarme / Les Mamelles de Tirésias aswell as Papageno / Die Zauberflöte for the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg.
