Roberto Giordano was born in Tropea, Italy, in 1981. He started his piano studies with Angela Masneri. At the age of 14,  he became the youngest pianist to be admitted to the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris, taking classes with Marcella Crudeli. Here, between 1995 and 1999 he was awarded all the diplomas in his “Execution Pianistique” studies, with an unanimous vote by the jury and the special commendation. In 1999, aged 18, he’s graduated with distinction and the highest rating at the “G. Rossini” Conservatoire in Pesaro. He is now graduated with the high title of MASTER at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale Incontri col Maestro in Imola, , where his teachers were Leonid Margarius and Piero Rattalino.

From his earliest years, Roberto Giordano won prizes in many international competitions, both in Italy and abroad. In 2003 his Fourth Prize in the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in Brussels brought him to the attention of international music critics and helped to project him onto some of the best-known concert platforms in the world.He is a regular guest of some of the most important stages and festivals in the world, such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Palais Des Beaux Arts in Bruxelles, Hermitage Theater in St.Petersburg, Minato Mirai Hall in Yokohama, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Mozarteum i Salzsburg, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Philharmonia Concert Hall in Wroclaw, Stadt Oper in Frankfurt, Imperial Mint of Istambul, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza,  Salle Cortot in Parigi, Teatro dal Verme in Milan, Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, Teatro Bibiena in Mantova,  Salle Philarmonique in Liegi, Palais des Beaux Arts in Charleroi, Theâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Bruxelles, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Musical Olympus International Festival of St.Petersburg, Festival de Wallonie, Festival Van Vlaanderen, Istanbul Music Festival, Settimane Musicali di Stresa, Europalia, “Genova 2004”, Festival de Stavelot, Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Festival di Ravello, BFCM in Brooklyn -NY and many others.

He has also been soloist with important orchestras, among which the Belgiun National Orchestra, Orchestre Philarmonique de Liège, State Hermitage Orchestra of Saint-Petersburg, Romanian State Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Jonge Filarmonie van Vlaanderen, Orchestra di Padova e Veneto, Bucarest Philarmonic Orchestra, Aachen Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano. He has enriched his artistic development through rewarding chamber music performances with eminent musicians such as the baritone Leo Nucci, the violinist Feng Ning and conductors like Gilbert Varga, Pavel Kogan, Christian Brancusi, Anton Nanut, Jean Pierre Haeck, Domonkos Heja, Vasilij Petrenko, Marcus Bosch e Hansjöerg Schellenberger. He regularly plays with Josè Van Dam. Vladimir Ashkenazy has particularly appreciated Giordano in his performance of all Chopin’s 12 Etudes op.25.

Director Gérard Corbiau (winner of  Oscar and Golden Globe awards for the films Farinelli  and Le Maître de Musique)  produced a film-portrait of Roberto Giordano, titled“Roberto Giordano, d’un monde à l’autre”,  which was broadcasted by the major Tv channels of Belgium, France, UK, Russia, Australia and Canada.In november 2004, after a big succes in Japan, at the 23rd Piano Festival of Yokohama, the Tv programm ”The pianist of the week” is completely dedicated to him on the channel “Classica Japan”. Giordano has published three Cd’s, the last one for the Italian label “La Bottega Discantica”. His concerts have been recorded and subsequently regularly broadcasted by RTBF and Klara (Belgium), as well as in Italy by RAI (Radiouno/Radiotre) and by the Vatican Radio. Among his numerous recordings for RTBF, he made a DVD in March 2005 at the Flagey in Brussels. Another DVD (Mozart’s Ways) has been recorded  in Italy for “Classica”.
