Season 2022-2023

His future engaments include : Il turco in Italia (Albazar) by Gioachino Rossini, Alzira (Ovando) by Giuseppe Verdi, Lîle de Tulipatan (Cacatois XXII, Duc de Tulipatan) by Jacques Offenbach and Adriana Lecouvreur (Poisson) by Francesco Cilea. All four productions, at the Royal Opera House of Wallonie, Liège.

Vocal education

The young artist began his vocal education at the age of 15 when his genuine talent got praised by the world class Bulgarian tenor Kaludi Kaludov. Another important recognition came to him, when he was admitted to the vocal department of the renowned Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel to study under the tutelage of Belgian's world class bass-baritone Jose van Dam. Making Alexander Marev the youngest student ever to join the QEMC.

Parallel to this training in Belgium, Alexander Marev graduated 2019 from the vocal department of the Elsner music School of Warsaw. Eventually he studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Valerie Guillorit. Since then he has been consquently developing his vocal skills taking part in numerous master classes with famous singers.

During the season 2021/22 Alexander Marev joined the renowned MM Academy, the Young Talent Program of the Brussels Opera La Monnaie/De Munt.

Stage presence

Meanwhile the artist participated in major opera productions. He made his stage debut in Verdi's Rigoletto as Matteo Borsa at the Royal Opera House of Wallonie, Liège, under the baton of Maestro Daniel Oren (March 2022). And upon invitation of la Monnaie/De Munt, Alexander Marev took part in the concert performances of Richard Wagner's Parsifal as Knappe, under Maestro Alain Altinoglu, the music director of the Opera house (Bozar, Brussels, May 2022).

The young artist came also into the spotlight when performing as a soloist alongside the Children Chorus of La Monnaie/De Munt in the Christmas concert at the Royal Palace in Brussels. A concert which was recorded and broadcast by major TV channels including : the Belgian RTBF and RTL next to TV5 Monde.
