Biographie française:
Après avoir obtenu un DEUG de Droit, Chloé De Backer intègre la Guildhall School of Music and Drama à Londres où elle suivra sa formation lyrique. En 2004 elle fait un échange ERASMUS à Karlsruhe en Allemagne et a étudie avec Hartmut Höll et Mitsuko Shirai. Elle a suivi les masterclass de Francisco Araiza, Jacqueline Bonnardot, Robin Bowman, Manuel Cid et Udo Reinmann. En 2007 elle est acceptée à l’Opera Studio de Zürich où elle interprète les rôles de Larina Eugine Onegin et la Comtesse Der Wildschütz. Avec l’Opéra de Zürich elle chante les rôles du Renard Kinderfüchslein et des seconds rôles dans Königskinder et Peer Gynt. Ailleurs elle se produit dans La Périchole (rôle-titre) et Mme Balandard dans M. Choufleuri restera chez lui ... pour le Festival de Venelles, Hélène dans L’éducation manquée pour le Festival d’Auray, Cherubino dans Le Nozze di Figaro, Mrs Kneebone dans A Dinner Engagement, Geneviève dans The Long Christmas Dinner, Clairon dans Capriccio, La Ciesca dans Gianni Schicci et les doublures de Frugola (Il Tabarro), Meg Page (Falstaff), Genevieve (he Little Green Swallow) de Jonathan Dove (GSMD), Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Diane (La Calisto), Olga (Les trois Soeurs), Romeo (I Capuleti e I Montecchi) et Rosine (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) (extraits, GSMD). En 2008 elle participe aux chœurs du Festival de Glyndebourne et en 2009 fait une tournée et la doublure de Javotte Manon avec Scottish Opera. L'été passé, juillet 2011, elle endossa le rôle de Mercedes dans Carmen au New Devon Opera, un rôle dans lequel elle fêta ses débuts à l'Opéra royal de Muscat (Oman) sous la direction de Patrick Fournillier, en décembre 2011.

After obtaining a General Diploma in Law in Paris, Chloé De Backer trained for a BMus at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where she went on to complete the Opera Course, studying with Robert Dean, John Llewellyn Evans and Laura Sarti. She has participated in masterclasses with Francisco Araiza, Robin Bowman, Jacqueline Bonnardot, Manuel Cid and Udo Reinmann. In 2004 she was awarded an ERASMUS scholarship to study with Hartmut Höll and Mitsuko Shirai at the Karlsruhe Musikhochschule in Germany. Having given numerous recitals in Paris, London and Berlin and participating in opera productions at the GSMD she accepted a place at the International Opera Studio in Zürich in 2007. Her roles there included Larina Eugine Onegin and Countess Der Wildschütz. With Zürich Opera she sang The Fox Kinderfüchslein and roles in Königskinder and Peer Gynt. Elsewhere she has performed the title role La Périchole and Mme Balandard M. Choufleuri restera chez lui le...for the Venelles Festival, Hélène L’éducation manquée (Chabrier) for the Auray Festival, Cherubino Le Nozze di Figaro, Mrs Kneebone A Dinner Engagement, Genevieve The Long Christmas Dinner, Clairon Capriccio, La Ciesca Gianni Schicci and the covers of Frugola Il Tabarro, Meg Page Falstaff, Genevieve The Little Green Swallow (Jonathan Dove)(GSMD), Dorabella Cosi fan tutte, Diana La Calisto, Olga Three Sisters, Romeo I Capuleti e I Montecchi and Rosina Il Barbiere di Siviglia (scenes, GSMD). In 2008 she was a member of the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus and in 2009 has covered Javotte Manon and toured for Scottish Opera. In July 2011 she sang Mercedes in Carmen at the new Devon Opera a role she also made her debut at Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman, December 2011 (under the baton of Patrick Fournillier)
