The young Italian tenor Enrico Casari combined musicology studies at the University of Pavia with a post-graduate at the Flanders Opera Studio (Gent). His earlier musical (piano) and vocal education took place at the Conservatoire of Verona.
In 2006 he became laureate of the “Teatro Musicale del Settecento”, which enabled him to get the main male part in “Bastien & Bastienne”, an opera production that was proposed by the famous “Bibiena Teatro” of Mantova. The same year he won the First Prize at the “Rinaldo Pelizzoni” singing competition in Parma. And, since 2007 he’s also laureate of the international singing competition of “Città di Bologna”. Shortly afterwards he was accepted at the Flanders Opera Studio
From February 2009 till June 2010, he was a full member of the Operastudio at Opéra du Rhin (Strasbourg). But, combine this membership with guest engagements at La Monnaie as Don Curzio and at Opéra Royal de Wallonie as Tamino and Brighella.
He appeared with the Symphonic Orchestra of la Monnaie (Brussels) led by Alberto Veronesi, when he appeared as Barone Rouvel in the CD recording of Fedora by U. Giordano for deutsche Grammophon next to Placido Domingo (January 2008). At Flanders Opera he took part in La Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini and in La Sonnambula (led by Rani Calderon).
At the Opera studio of Opéra National du Rhin (ONR) Strasbourg he participated in important productions programmed by ONR, with roles as Noctambule/Pape des fous etc. in Louise by Charpentier, Brighella and Malcolm (Macbeth/Verdi). Other than that he got lavish praise for his Aladdin (title-role in Nino Rota’s opera) scheduled by the opera studio. During season 2010/2011 he returned at ONR as Janek (The Makropulos Affair/Janacek) in the new production of Robert Carsen. He also sang Tamino at Opéra de Rouen and in concert at Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels.
His season 2011-2012 includes Kudrjas (Kat’a Kabanova) & Valzacchi (Rosenkavalier) at ONR Strasbourg as well as Malcolm at the opera of Montecarlo. His future roles are a.o. roles Beppe (I Pagliacci) at ORW Liège.
